Introduction

My name is Britnie Roach and I have recently graduated with two degrees from Shidler Business School of University of Hawaii Manoa in Business Management and Management Information Systems. I am currently working independently on learning more programming languages and also in the process of earning my certification as a MERN Full Stack Developer from MIT xPro. My hopes for the future are to start a career in the tech field as a software/web developer and to someday own my own company and make use of my business management skills as well.

Projects

PacMan Factory

This project uses several functions to create pacmen and start the game at the click of a button. Once the game is started the pacmen will begin to move in random directions at a fixed velocity towards the window walls and with help of our functions will bounce around the window indefinitely.

Eyes Exercise

In this project we were asked to make what was originally one eye that followed the cursor into two eyes. I also changed the color of the background to be more realistic.

Map Animation

My map animation is centered on the capital of Oahu, HI, Honolulu. The first marker is placed near my home in Makiki and the directions will have the endpoint of Kaimanas Beach. The different components (CSS, JS, HTML) have been seperated into seperate files within the MapAnimation folder & the map style has been changed to satellite for a different aesthetic. As well as the button has also been styled in the seperate CSS in order to make it stand out. With each marker move the viewer can see turn by turn the route to the beach. The duration of the trip has been sped up to 10x the normal time it would take for the sake of viewing pleasure and time.

About Me

Workflow

Interests

Apart from learning to be a app/web developer, I spend the majority of my time adventuring with friends and my toddler daughter around the beautiful place I call my home, Oahu, HI. I enjoy anything in nature. Including hiking, swimming/relaxing on the beach, and going to the park.

I am a nerd at heart and foresee myself continuing my education whether it be formally or self study for the rest of my life. Some areas of study I most enjoy other than programming are business, psychology, sociology, science, human behavior in general, and anything I come across that I am uneducated on. I am a very curious person and always open to broadening my horizons and my perspective.
